Community Service Grant 101

Kate Arno joined the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in January, 2013, as Director of TV Community Service Grants Policy and Review. Previously, she was a senior policy associate at the University of Southern Maine where she directed a national initiative that collected, cleaned, and analyzed data on the activities of almost 5,000 U.S. Dept. of Justice grant recipients. Kate previously enjoyed nine years at Maine Public Broadcasting where she was Vice President of Television and Education. She is an Emmy® award-winning television producer and has an undergraduate degree in journalism and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Management.

Andrew Charnik is Director, Radio CSG Policy & Administration, at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) where he oversees the financial reporting of the nearly 600 grantees in the Community Service Grant program. Andrew joined CPB’s staff in 2011 as a Manager of Business Planning and Operations in the Office of the COO. Prior to CPB, Andrew was an independent consultant for early stage businesses and entrepreneurs. He also worked domestically and internationally in asset management and private banking with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and with The Walt Disney Company. Andrew earned a B.A. with Distinction in Chemistry from the University of Delaware and an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
