Nicole Banman

Nicole Banman has served as the director of finance and administration at Kansas Public Radio (KPR) and the Audio-Reader Network in Lawrence, Kansas, for nearly 10 years. Nicole was born and raised in Kansas, earning her B.S. in accounting from Kansas State University in 2006 and her M.S. in accounting from the University of Kansas in 2011. Her entire career consists of work in the nonprofit accounting sector. Prior to working at KPR, she served as the finance director for an academic research department at KU Medical Center. In addition to her position at KPR, Nicole works as the director of finance for Kaw Valley Soccer Association, she is a member of the board of directors for the Sexual Trauma and Abuse Care Center, and she serves as the treasurer for her son’s Boy Scout troop #61. In addition to overseeing all of the accounting, budgeting, and administrative functions of KPR and Audio-Reader, Nicole serves as the compliance officer for the station. She ensures that KPR maintains full compliance with FCC and CPB regulations. Nicole is responsible for developing separate budgets for KPR and Audio-Reader, both of which are licensed to the University of Kansas. The combined annual budgets for which Nicole is responsible amount to $3M. She is an advocate for public broadcasting and enjoys reaching out to her community to promote the industry.
