PMBA Annual Conference Canceled; Virtual Education Program Announced

Thank you for being a highly valued partner and for your patience as PMBA responds to this dramatically changing environment.
Today, we regretfully announce the in-person event scheduled at the MGM Grand National Harbor for May 26-29, 2020, is canceled. The safety of members is our highest priority, and based on the updated recommendations of the CDC as well as federal and local governmental authorities, this is in the best interest of all attendees.
 
And, while we have canceled the in-person conference, we assure you that PMBA is sensitive to station needs at this time and committed to providing you with cost-effective educational resources and industry networking opportunities.
Accordingly, we are pleased to announce that our staff and volunteers are diligently working with all of our speakers on an alternative to present PMBA sessions under a virtual education program. This program will also be designed to still provide you with the valued continuing education many of you rely on for credit under CPB, CPA, and SHRM requirements.
Stay tuned as we work hard to present you with virtual education program details as quickly as possible.

What do you mean by “virtual options”?
We are excited about our session line-up. So, in short, we are working with all of our conference speakers to bring you as many sessions as possible in a virtual setting. We also know the value of networking opportunities for our members and are looking at ways we can connect people in this specialized format.
 
I am already registered. What should I do?
If you are interested in attending any of the virtual options in any capacity, just sit tight. Once we have worked out the details, we will give you additional information about how to transfer your registration and receive any appropriate credits/refunds. If you already know that you do not want to attend any of the 2020 sessions virtually, you may contact us at info@pmbaonline.org and request a transfer of your registration to the 2021 conference in La Costa, California. Alternatively, you may also request a full refund.
 
What should I do about my hotel reservation?
The MGM Grand National Harbor will be automatically canceling all reservations for this event. You do not need to contact them or cancel the reservation yourself. You will not be assessed any cancellation fees.
 
What should I do about my flight?
This will be entirely dependent on your airline. Most airlines are offering credits for future flights, so if you are planning to attend a future PMBA conference, you could apply any credit toward a future expense. If you are requesting a refund, you will need to work with your airline directly.
 
I am not registered, but I want to take advantage of virtual options. How do I do that?
We are currently working on the portal for attendees to register for virtual sessions. As soon as this information becomes available, we will send it out to the membership.
 
When will you know more about virtual session options?
Our conference team and staff are working as quickly as possible to plan our educational options in such a way that is most beneficial to members. Our target is to have details about virtual options posted by the first week of April. If this changes, this statement will be updated.
